The book I give to all my friends when they get a dog!  Easy to read with real-life anecdotes to introduce each theory of canine congnition and training.  Dr McConnel is a stand out Applied Animal Behaviorist who relates easily to humans as well as dogs through this and many other books.

This book shares insights on how "man's best friend" might interpret our behavior, as well as essential advice on how to interact with our four legged friends in ways that bring out the best in them.
